Atlanta Food and Farm brought Steve in to supply water to an island at the edge of Norris Lake for their community garden. There is no building to collect water from, but the lake is a clean, fresh source.
Solar Pump
The plan is to pump the water from the lake to be used for the garden and at this point hand water only. The water comes from the lake through a hose via a floating filter to collect the cleanest water just below the surface. The solar panel has more then enough power to supply the pump, but a small battery was added incase a cloudy day is encountered.
Phase 2
After a couple years and the garden are. They came to realize that if the pump goes bad they would be with out water. A second pump and panel were installed on the same poll to allow resilience and more versatility to water the garden.
